Lachung

Ce n'est pas la saison touristique à Lachung car la mousson amène de nombreux nuages. Mais nous avons beaucoup de chance d'avoir des éclaircies à Lachung, la vallée voisine de Lachen.

It's not the touristic season because the monsoon brings lots of clouds. However, we are lucky to see some clear sky up there in Lachung, the cousin valley of Lachen valley. 

Nous logeons dans la très agréable maison d'hôte d'Hishey Lachungpa.

We are staying at the very nice Hishey Lachungpa's home stay.

Visite du Mani Lhakhang inconnu de Lachung qu'aucun touriste ne vient visiter. Il faut connaître l'endroit et ne pas se perdre dans les bois pour arriver ici. 

Visit of the unknown Lachung Mani Lhakhang where no tourist come at all. It is difficult to find the place, not to get lost in the woods.

La gardienne des clés habite une petite maison derrière le temple.

The care taker lives alone in a small wooden house behind the temple.

Les peintures murales ont bien besoin d'une petite restauration. 

Clin d'oeil à Pauline Fossier qui a fait son mémoire de fin d'études à Paris I sur ces peintures en 2015 (tests de nettoyage et identification des pigments).

 Promenade à travers Lachung. Près du monastère principal où une route est en construction, nous découvrons ...

...une magnifique maison traditionnelle abandonnée avec une toiture en bois, les soubassements en pierre sèche et la structure en bois est constituée de large piliers percés de trous dans lesquels viennent s'imbriquer les montants. Cela nous rappelle le type de pilliers avec des trous qui sont peut-être du bois remployé d'une ancienne maison utilisé pour la charpente du Lachen Mani Lhakhang.

We take a walk through Lachung. Nearby the monastery where a road is being built, 

we discover ...

...a wonderful abandoned traditional house with wooden tiles (khim tog), the basement is in dry stone and the wooden structure presents wooden pillar which resemble a lot the pilars we can see in the attic of the Lachen Mani Lhakhang. It is probable that the wood in the Lachen Mani Lhakhang temple was taken from an old traditional house and reused for the timber in the attic.

...les pierres sont jetées au centre du mur au lieu d'être bien disposées une par une... la technique de la pierre sèche n'est pas vraiment maîtrisée dans la région à l'heure actuelle et le passé proche. As-t-elle été maîtrisée dans le passé?

...the stones are thrown randomly in the core of the dry stone wall instead of being laid properly one by one... so the technique is not well mastered nowadays and in the recent past. Was it ever master before in the region?
