On espère que le projet pourra aboutir à quelque chose comme cela, même si cette vue imaginaire prend beaucoup de liberté avec la perspective et les détails, nous pouvons voir le charme qu'apporterait la réalisation d'une calade en pierre tout autour du temple et un mur de pourtour en pierre au lieu de parpaings. 

De plus, nous pouvons voir ici le temple avec la facade ouverte et donc la possibilité de voir les deux piliers peints dans le porche.

We hope that the project will one day reach this result. Even if this painted imaginary view modifies a lot the perspective and omits details, we can imagine the charm that would bring the realization of a traditional stone flooring around the temple, as well as ta dry stone fencing instead of concrete fencing.

La facade est fermée par une cloison en bois. L’escalier est en béton et désaxé par rapport à la porte d’entrée. Nous imaginons pouvoir refaire ces marches en pierre sèche, ce qui serait plus esthétique.

The facade is closed by a timber partition wall. The steps going to the door are in concrete and are not aligned with the entrance door. We imagine to rebuild the steps in dry stone which would be much more aesthetic.

Autour du Lachen Mani Lhakhang, le drainage est en béton et ne remplit pas sa fonction d'évacuation d'eau particulièrement à l'arrière du temple et des remontées capillaires sont visibles dans le hall. 

De plus, les personnes souhaitant déambuler autour du temple s'embourbent dans la terre boueuse. Un drainage réalisé correctement, accompagné d’une calade tout autour règlerait les problèmes d'humidité dans le mur arrière. Cette étape doit être faite avant tout autre travail de restauration du plancher et des peintures murales à l'intérieur. Cela ajouterait aussi à l'esthétique de l'ensemble à l'extérieur.

Around the Lachen Mani Lhakhang, the drainage is made of concrete and doesn't fulfill its functions: the water is not properly evacuated at the back of the temple and damp is rising in the masonry in the hall.

Moreover, people circulating around the temple have to step on the damp mud. A proper drainage realized all around the temple would solve the humidity problems inside. This has to be made before further restoration work inside the temple like the wood flooring and the wall painting restoration. Eventually, the stone flooring would beautify the landscape around the temple.

A Risum, près de Rinchenpong au Sikkim occidental, il y a un très bel exemple de callade traditionelle sikkimaise réalisée autour du temple.

In Risum, nearby Rinchenpong in West Sikkim, there is a beautiful example of traditional Sikkimese stone flooring around the temple.

Autour du Mani Lhakhang de Lachen, la clôture est faite en parpaings ou en barbelés. 

Il serait beaucoup plus esthétique de réaliser une clôture en pierre sèche telle que l'ont commencé  Robert et ses apprentis cette année près de la porte d'entrée.

Around the Lachen Mani Lhakhang, the fence is made of concrete or barbed wires. It would be much more beautiful if the fence would be rebuilt in dry stone wall, just the way Robert and his trainees started it nearby the gate this year.
