Le dimanche et les jours de fête religieuse du calendrier tibétain, les femmes de Lachen (Nyungney Ams) se réunissent dans le Lachen Mani Lhakhang pour prier. Elles couvrent leurs épaules d'une couverture rouge, préparent du thé au beurre et partagent des biscuits. Durant la restauration du temple, elles se réunissent en plus petit comité afin de pouvoir se tenir dans la cuisine nord.
On sundays and particular religious days of the Tibetan calendar, the Nyungey Ams, the fasting mothers, gather in the Lachen Mani Lhakhang in order to pray. They put a red blanket on their shoulders, prepare butter tea and share biscuits. During the Lachen Mani Lhakhang Restoration Project they perform their rituals in a smaller committee and sit in the northern kitchen.

Chinkiap et Mélodie partent tôt le matin vers le sud de Lachen pour repérer un site d'extraction de terre crue. Chinkiap propose de rendre visite à son oncle Ageu Lachenpa dans le petit village de Daray qui connaît l'emplacement d'une source importante d'argile dans son champ.
Chinkiap and Mélodie leave early morning Lachen to go to Daray, south, in order to localize a new source of clay. Chinkiap suggests to visit his uncle Ageu Lachenpa who knows where to find good clay on his field.

En attendant un véhicule pour retourner à Lachen, Ageu nous montre sa production de cordelette en poil de yack d'une solidité à toute épreuve, et de toute beauté.
